Ecco Kollektive

In May 2021, I was invited to take part in a challenging collaboration—one that stretched me beyond my comfort zone and introduced me to entirely new territory. The project, the launch of Ecco Kollektive, called for the design of a leather-based piece of furniture alongside four leading fashion designers. While Ecco is globally renowned for its shoes, it is also a benchmark in the production and refinement of high-quality leather.

Each designer approached the project with a distinct vision, creating their own unique furniture piece. For me, this presented a fascinating challenge: to design while thinking within the creative framework of each individual, exploring their perspective and translating it into a functional form.

Working closely with Natacha Ramsay-Levi, Kostas Murkudis, Isaac Reina, and Bianca Saunders, my role was to help shape ideas, transform them into functional prototypes, and ultimately bring each concept to life as a fully realized piece of furniture.

After a year of designing, developing, and fine-tuning, these singular pieces emerged—and were presented during Fashion Week Paris at the Palais de Tokyo. It was an intense, inspiring, and deeply instructive journey—an opportunity to collaborate with exceptionally talented individuals and contribute to the creation of something truly unique.
